  1. I can now build the “Daughter prompts dad to get in shape” example with key and mouse listener working to spin the daughter around so that dad can slack off the push ups when she’s not looking and one hand them when she is. Nice job, gang, this is an excellent tool and one I’m happy to be able to use with students. Well done! Best regards, — DanG

  5. Hey,

Any idea when the Alice Linux source code will be released?

I’m interested in packaging it for Debian Experimental.

  13. I am just starting school and am trying to gain some educational knowledge. I am new, so I can’t tell you what I think of Alice yet…Except for the fact that I think I’m glad I found her, by accident.

I’ve been teaching Alice 2.7 for 1.5 years to 4th,5th,6th,7th, and 8th graders. I was wondering if 3.0 had the option of making “copy” a method, or of “grouping” objects so that they would be counted as one. Can 2.7 do those, and if so, how? I’m trying to integrate Alice so that teachers use it in art, language arts, global studies, math, and science. I could use it to show the rotation of the planets, display stories that kids write, show location on countries, display addition and multiplication of polynomials, show life science, and much more! If any of you have any other integrating suggestions, please tell me. I’d like to improve my class and widen Alice’s effects on the grade-school curriculum.
